With ADSL connections now finally installed by Telstra at Hopevale and Pormpuraaw, QRAM Manager Jim Remedio and Technical Consultant Gerry Pyne will be travelling to both communities in early August.
It’s a 2000 km round trip they’ll be making to install equipment to complete connections into the Black Star network and train RIBS operators in each community Looking at the picture of Pormpuraaw from the air you can imagine what it’s like getting services to our communities when the wet begins, so it’s important to get those installations happening!
Napranum, Mornington Island and Doomadgee communities are scheduled to join the network shortly after, with a visit to Lockhart River also on the busy slate of activities for the QRAM team in August. Many miles on the dial! And important to not end up like this …
