Mental Health is serious and developing problem in many remote communities and radio can play an important role in promoting positive mental health.
Jaelea Skehan paid a courtesy visit to ‘QRAM Central’ in her role as Program Manager in Mental Health at the Hunter Institute of Mental Health. She manages education and training for the Mindframe National Media Initiative in Australia, aimed at promoting responsible and accurate portrayal of suicide and mental illness.
Jalena was able to drop information into the QRAM office for dissemination to the stations in our network and to support the current QRAM Mental Health project funded by DOHAR. QRAM are well into the project, which is due for completion in end of October.
