At the mouth of the Escape River near Turtle head Island on the east coast of the Northern Peninsula, lives a pearling family, farming South Sea Pearls.
The location is like you read about in travel brochures, picture perfect pristine environment, that nurtures and grows high quality pearls. The farm is owned by Rusty and Bronwyn Tully who live and work there on Turtle Island. They have a passion to produce and supply beautiful pearls to everyday people who will treasure natures gifts “as they do.” The pearls have a reputation of being of deep lustre, gorgeous colour and perfectly round.
Greg Reid spoke with Rusty on morning focus and got an insight into what it’s like working in the great outdoors.
