QRAM and TSIMA Enter into Talks to Improve Radio Services

QRAM’s Gilmore Johnston and Gerry Pyne met with TSIMA’s Mario Soki, Sylvia Tabua and Jenny Enosa on Thursday Island today. Fruitful discussions were held and we were able to exchange ideas and demonstrate some the new technologies being deployed throughout the Cape by the Black Star network. Both parties are now entering into further discussions exploring a new partnership to be underpinned by an MOU that will bring about improved media services for the Cape and Torres Strait. There are long standing cultural ties linking the two regions and this partnership with further strengthen these and lead to an increased interchange of information, news, and entertainment. This is an exciting time for remote media and we are looking forward and to working more closely with our Northern Partners. Communities serviced by the two organisations stand to benefit greatly from the partnership.
